What it is
The DID is the system's single source of truth for data definitions — every named field, its type, unit, valid range, source, and consumers.
◤ ◤ PURPOSE
Why it exists
Eliminates ambiguity between teams. When two subsystems disagree about whether 'altitude' is feet or meters, AGL or MSL, the DID is the arbiter.
